Om Malik, Editor-in-Chief

Om Malik has over 15 years of experience as a journalist covering technology and business news. Most notably, he was a Writer at Red Herring during its glory days. He then went on to be part of the founding team of Forbes.com as a Senior Editor. Most recently, he was a Senior Writer for Business 2.0 magazine covering telecom and broadband stories. His contributions have been published in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and MIT Technology Review. Additionally, Malik is the author of Broadbandits: Inside the $750 Billion Telecom Heist. He is also the recipient of many industry awards which include Excellence in Journalism from the SPJ in 2001 and the Gold Award from American Society of Business Publication Editors in 2001.

Carolyn Pritchard, Managing Editor

Carolyn Pritchard brings nearly 10 years of editing experience to our publications. She was a reporter and desk editor at CBS Marketwatch. Carolyn has made a true art out of meeting deadlines with her fast paced blogging style. Carolyn has a Masters in Journalism from University of California, Berkeley’s School of Journalism.

Celeste LeCompte, Special Projects Editor

Celeste LeCompte has more than five years of experience researching and reporting on cleantech and sustainable business. Before joining GigaOM, Celeste was the managing editor for Sustainable Industries (where she also covered everything from organic food to greener IT) and an associate editor at NWCurrent.com. She has spoken on numerous panels about green business, technology and media. Previously, Celeste was a research consultant for Ecotrust and a freelance editor.

Katie Fehrenbacher, Editor of Earth2Tech

Katie Fehrenbacher has been covering cutting-edge technology and startups in Silicon Valley for the past 6 years. She headed up the launch of Earth2Tech in July 2007 to track the entrepreneurs, investors and technologies that are helping fight climate change. Prior to joining GigaOM, Katie was a reporter at Red Herring, where she wrote about broadband-based technologies and companies. She was also one of the original editors at Engadget, where she wrote about the latest consumer electronics. Katie began her career as a reporter in the Silicon Valley bureau of the largest Japanese daily newspaper, the Yomiuri Shimbun.

Liz Gannes, Editor of NewTeeVee

Liz Gannes has made NewTeeVee the premier publication for news and analysis in the online video world, adding to this success with a sold-out first NewTeeVee Live conference in November 2007. Liz still contributes to GigaOM; prior to joining the company, was a reporter for Red Herring.

Judi Sohn, Editor of WebWorkerDaily

Judi Sohn brings nearly 10 years of experience as a technology consultant and blogger to her role as editor of WebWorkerDaily, shaping its content and vision. She is also the VP of operations for C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition. Judi has a BFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, GA.

Sam Dean, Editor of OStatic

Sam Dean has over 15 years of experience as an editor and writer for both print and online technology publications, including InfoWorld, PC/Computing, and WebWorkerDaily. At OStatic, Dean oversees writers who have concentrated for years on the rapidly growing open source arena. Articles at OStatic are complemented by a database of over 150,000 open source projects, and Dean also oversees integration of daily article content with the project database content. Dean is the recipient of national journalism awards from the Computer Press Association and the American Society of Business Professional Editors.

Carleen Hawn, Editor of FoundRead

Carleen Hawn has over 10 years of journalism experience. She was an Associate Editor with Forbes, and a Senior Writer and West Coast Bureau Chief for Fast Company. Her claim to fame is inventing the long-running and influential Midas List for Forbes, which lists the biggest business dealmakers. Her contributions have been published in Financial Week, Business 2.0, San Francisco and Outside magazines. Hawn has a Masters in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Chris Albrecht, Writer for NewTeeVee

Chris Albrect has spent over a decade identifying, creating or marketing hit content online. He cut his teeth as an Associate Editor for ZDNet’s AnchorDesk back in the day and served as copywriter, acquisitions manager and director of programming for MTV acquired AtomFilms.com. He has spoken at, juried or programmed different film festivals across North America.

Stacey Higginbotham, Writer for GigaOM

Stacey Higginbotham is happy when immersed in SEC flings, tech specs or poking through a data center. She has spent the last seven years covering technology and finance for publications such as The Deal, the Austin Business Journal, The Bond Buyer and Business Week, and works remotely from Austin, Texas.

Craig Rubens, Writer for Earth2Tech and NewTeeVee

Craig joined the GigaOM Network in March 2007, writing for its online video site, NewTeeVee. Craig became a full-time staff writer for Earth2Tech in October 2007, where he writes about cleantech startups and the turbulent regulatory scene governing renewable energy. When he's not writing, Craig also shoots and edits video for the GigaOM Network. Craig has a BA from Dartmouth College with a double major in Environmental Studies and Film & Television Studies.
